God and Government
Book
The book comprises a series of essays which explore the role of government. It does not tell readers what to do, still less which way to vote. It seeks, rather, to equip people to consider what they should be attempting to achieve in their roles as 'political Christians', that is, Christians employed, engaged or simply interested in politics.
Each author attempts to anser the question: "What, according to Christian thought, is the proper function of government". A key conclusion is that God has a role for both the church and for government, and they are not the same. Their lively and sometimes conflicting views provide an unparalleled overview of what government is for and what Christians should expect from it, both as an institution and as an area of active participation.
